Introduction To Barcode Label Printer Concepts

A barcode label printer is a specialized printer. The biggest difference between a barcode printer and a regular printer is that barcode printers use heat as the printing medium, employing a ribbon (or thermal paper) to complete the printing. The biggest advantage of this printing method over regular printing is that it can achieve continuous, high-speed printing without human supervision. Barcode printers typically print company logos, serial numbers, packaging labels, barcodes, envelope labels, clothing tags, etc.

We often encounter this situation: when you go to a shopping mall or supermarket, you see a small label on the product with alternating black and white vertical lines. When you go to checkout, the cashier scans this label with a handheld scanner, and the price you should pay is immediately displayed on the POS machine.

These vertical lines are technically called barcodes. Their widespread use has directly led to the rapid proliferation of related equipment, and barcode printers, as one of the important devices for barcode applications, are widely used in manufacturing, logistics, and other industries that require label printing.
