Wristbands are wrist straps worn on the wrist, mainly categorized into daily life, industrial production, and medical applications. Daily wristbands, such as sports wristbands, often use eight colors to convey a healthy attitude or complement clothing; industrial anti-static wristbands are used to discharge static electricity from the human body, and come in corded and cordless types. Their conductivity depends on materials such as the silver inner layer, PU elastic wire, and copper grounding wire; medical wristbands typically contain QR codes and patient information such as names and hospital numbers for identification, originating from German wounded soldier identification strips during World War I.
Medical wristbands should be worn on the left wrist (except in special circumstances). For children, safety pins can be used to secure them to clothing to prevent them from easily falling off. Modern wristband technology extends to the smart field, supporting functions such as electronic tickets and membership management, using environmentally friendly silicone materials and supporting multi-band chip customization. Anti-static wristbands are widely used in the electronics manufacturing industry, while metal wristbands are mostly used in cleanrooms; their durability depends on the grounding terminal material.
